About Us

Freedom Electric was started in August 2000 by Michael Hedrick, Sr. with a van, cell phone, and tools. In May 2006, we added our mechanical division. Our mission is to provide electrical and mechanical services at reasonable prices to the Hampton Roads Area. Our work is performed with integrity, quality, and excellence in accordance with National Codes and industry standards. We specialize in going to long extremes to make our clients happy and getting the job done as safely and quickly as possible.

Michael Hedrick, Sr.

Michael Hedrick Sr., a lifelong resident of the Hampton Roads area, graduated from Oscar Smith High School. He completed 4 years in apprenticeship at Norfolk VoTech and got his journeyman’s license. For 12 years he installed pumps for gas stations in Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, and Delaware. He has excellent knowledge about commercial and residential code wiring and troubleshooting skills. He currently resides in the Hickory area of Chesapeake and has two children.
